The rich history and culture of the Marche region is framed within a great variety of landscapes, including beautiful mountain ranges, hills, valleys and beaches. Photographers of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels are invited to enter their best single images depicting natural landscapes, places (squares, landmarks, monuments, etc.), or local traditions (medieval palio, traditional dishes, historical reenactments, etc.) of the Marche Region.

By registering and entering the 2018 MIA photography contest you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions.

    • To enter, you need a Google/gmail account. Click here if you do not have one.
    • To enter, you must submit your Entry online following the on-screen instructions carefully.
    • Entries must be submitted by Saturday November 10, 2018 (NEW DATE) – 11:59 pm USA Eastern Time Zone (ET).
    • Each Entrant can submit maximum two images.
    • Images should reproduce natural landscapes, places (squares, landmarks, monuments, etc.), or local traditions (medieval palio, traditional dishes, historical reenactments, etc.) of the Marche region.
    • Entrants must provide a title (maximum 90 characters with spaces) and a brief description (maximum 300 characters with spaces) for each image.
    • The entry fees, payable at this link, are $15 for one image and additional $10 for a second image. The payment confirmation (Eventbrite order #) must be inserted in the submission form.
    • Files must meet the following specifications:
        • sRGB color space, 8-bit
        • Longest dimension must be 2000 pixels
        • Saved as a JPEG at 72ppi at a setting of 10 (web resolution)
        • Size no smaller that 1 MB and no larger than 5 MB
        • No Watermarks / Copyright Units / Logos on images
      • Only bleed photographs without borders
    • Winning entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file (longest dimension of at least 2000 pixels, 300dpi resolution), suitable for printing in media. This file will be used to prove the ownership of the image. Winning entrants who do not fulfill these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified without the right to appeal.
    • Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are eligible.
    • There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.
    • All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
    • You confirm that each person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown.
    • Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.
    • Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote MIA photography contest. Images will not be resold or used for commercial purposes by any other third party.
  • To promote winners, MIA is granted the right to display the 50 winning images on its website and official Facebook profile.

Prizes

    • The two best images overall, independently of the category, will receive an engraved award plaque.
    • The 20 best photographs will become part of a photography exhibition about Marche in New York. The artist from Marche Neri Marcorè will open the exhibition on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
  • The 50 best photographs will become part of a permanent online gallery.
  • UPDATE: if there will be at least 450 registered entries for the contest, the association MIA will offer the flight ticket to the author of the photo that got first place to attend the opening of the exhibition in New York (December 15). If there will be at least 550 registered entries, the flight ticket will be offered also to the author of the photo ranked in second place.

Judging Conditions

    • The two best photographs and the 20 images for the photographic exhibition will be selected from the 50 winning images by the three Judges together with the board of directors of MIA.
    • The decision of the Judges and MIA is final and no negotiation will be entered into with respect to any such decision.
  • Winners will be announced online and notified by email by Sunday December 2, 2018.
